Hi, I am Pastor Barry. Welcome to Macungie Christian Community. We desire to be a body of believers, that is Spirit led and biblically based.
I came to know the Lord in a Baptist church in Palmer Township. After graduating from high school I attended Pinebrook Junior College, and graduated from Covenant College. I worked in construction for about five years before going into the ministry. I started as a missionary at Uptown Baptist Church for two and a half years in the north side ghetto of Chicago. I spent time in France to learn the french language on my way to Senegal West Africa. At language school I met my wife to be, Bep Jeannette De Bruin, from Holland. We were married in Holland about nine months later. Together we went to Senegal to serve with the SIM mission.

In Senegal we worked for about two and a half years with the Wolof speaking people. Spinal meningitis forced us to leave Africa and return to Holland where I slowly recovered. From there we were called to pastor a Church in Seloncourt, France. I served as a pastor for ten years in France before returning to the United States. In this time, the Lord blessed us with  four children. Our daughter Joy passed away at two and a half months of age. We decided to adopt a handicapped girl, Noellie, from Chad. Back in the States I worked for about a year as a bilingual sales rep before accepting the position of pastor of Macungie Christian Community. I have been serving at Macungie Christian Community for the past seven years.
